I played a little while poker in internet trying to win some money in a tournament but I was defeated, lucily I did not payed to play. Also, today I was thinking if I should ask for a date to this girl I think I feel something for her. It is just confusing because I do not really know if I like her, hopefully I will decide before friday.

Diary: Day One
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julam08 2008
Dear diary, today I waked like a normal day but something told me that maybe it will not be as normal. I made evertyhing I nomally did every morning: being waked by my father, eat my breakfast, bath, brush my teeth, dress up, and hurry up because I am late and my father is hurrying me up. When I came to school I said hi to everyone and chated a little bit instead of working in the homework I did not did the day before. The bell rang and I had to receive classes. I received the best class in the world: Literature. We read some excellent stories and I could not wait to see what would happen the next day we read. All the other classes where as always, very very boring. The bell rang again and we had recess, in which I talked with my friends and laugh a little bit. Then back to the boring life of a normal day of school. We had to spanish classes and finaly what was going to take all the boredome and normalness of the day was going to happen. Today was the match of 12th grade against 10th grade. It was an amazing match and full of emotion. The match was so amazing because our grade was in the semifinals. We started loosing the match, but some minutes later Jose Domingo Solano scored for our team with a penalty. The match ended and the match had to be decided with penalties. They missed one but then we missed another. At the end Mario stopped another penalty and he scored the next, making our grade pass to the finals! Everyone was so excited and happy to have defeated one of our most hated rivals.
Besides this amazing event, nothing else amazing happened. The only important things was that I saw Click and it made me cry in the part were the main character yells to his aging father. I like so much this movie and is one of my favorite. Because of watching this movie and being in the computer I did not made my homework. Also I played guitar and because of not doing my homework in the afternoon I slept at 11 o’clock doing my homework. In guittar I learned two new songs: save tonight by eagle eye cherry and your body is a wonderland by john mayer. I am pretty sure tomorrow I will be so sleepy.

Biographical Article
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julpm08 2008
Have you ever heard the name Jorge Bohl? Surely you have. You may have known him as the professional soccer player of Guatemala who lead his country to the World Cup or maybe as the millionaire economist who works at Wall Street. Anyway you know this fascinating person, you surely know that he is a person born for triumph.
He started his life as an adult playing soccer for the Guatemalan team and for the club Juventus of Turin. He became the best player of all time of the Guatemalan team and the top scorer of Juventus in the season 2010-2011. He was being payed almost three hundred thousand euros per month and his career was evolving in a magnificent way. He even won the prize for te best rookie player of the year. His pretty new career was ended when he suffered a devastating injury in his left ankle, which left him off the field forever. His bright career as a soccer player now ended, but the start of the rest of his life started. In August 15, 2011, he decided he wanted to finish the studies he left behind when he started to be a player. So he made exams for the Harvard University and successfully was accepted in the University. He studied Economy for five years and achieved to get an Economist degree. Later on, he got a masters degree in business administration. After finishing his studies, he decided to go live in New York and work in Wall Street. He worked for about three years in there and during that time became one of the richest person born in Guatemala. He even created new techniques in Economy and shaped the way to benefit from the offer and demand. He recently became the richest person born in Guatemala and entered as one of the 1000 richest men on Earth. He also financed the world’s tallest building: the Grand Jaguar. It has about 195 floors and is all pure luxury. This building counts with some of the most modern technology and even has room service for the offices. Some of the most rich man in the world has their office in this building.
Last year he decided he wanted to try luck again in music. Since he had about sixteen years old, he played guitar and loved it. He made some songs with his band and showed the demos to the Universal Music Group. He got a contract and he sold about fifteen million copies, making about one billion five thousand million dollars ($1,500,000,000). He described his music as “melodic and full of life”. It seems that for this multi billionaire nothing is impossible.
His most recent achievment is winning the Nobel Prize for Economy for his contribution to the field. He was considered the best economist in the world and maybe of all time. In an act of charity, he donated what he won to the victims of the recent hurricane Kevin. He dedicated his price to his parents, his brothers, his best friends, and to God.
About six months ago we asked him what was the reason for his success and he answered: “I just do not let something stop me. Have you ever thought the saying that nothing is impossible? Well, that is hundred pecent true but only when your desire to achieving impossible is stronger.” We then asked him what would be his most recent projects and he answered:” Well, I was planning to write a book on business and how to become rich. I only want to help other to find maybe what they really want to do and what will give them money.” He ended the conversation saying: “I think people should never be happy or sad about having money. There was a time in my adolescence in which my parents did not had money and me and my family were the same happy as we are now.” We will have to wait to see the upcoming book, which should be an amazing one. About what he said about money, I think we should all think the same as he and live happy with what we have and not with what we do not have.
This extraordinary and amazingly intelligent person is not only a man of business, he is also helping his country, who is one of the most poor in the world. He has made about sixty six programs for helping the poor people. He has helped economically about five thousand families through five years, donating about thirty million dollars. He has also helped the Catholic Church of his country by donating about five million dollars to help them.
I think we can all conclude that this man has reached all his goals and made everything he wants in life. This man is living life at its fullness and is just having the best of it.

Values: Triumph
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julpm08 2008
When Miss Gaby asked me to write a story in which we had triumphed and that we made a lot of effort to achieve it, I instantly thought of the time I worked in Fetiche, a store that sells perfumes. I worked in my vacations of last year as a salesman. First, everything was very difficult for me, because it was a totally new thing which in my entire life I have never done it. So, as I started to get used, I proposed myself to be the best salesman of the store. I was so in to it that while my working mates where playing and not doing their job, I was or learning prices or selling to costumers. The competition was tough the whole time I was in Fetiche, because there were about three working mates that wanted to reach the same goal as me, and they were wining. I remember that one day I thought that maybe I could not do it, that it was too difficult for me achieving my goal, but suddenly I realized that even when I did not achieved my goal, the more I sold the more money I would get and the better salesman I would be. So from that day on, I started to work even harder. I remember that one day a person came into the store and I was the first to attend him. He brought all his family, about seven members, and I thought that, since they were so many, the perfumes I was about to sell were going to be very cheap. As many times happen in life, intuition fails and the total opposite happens. This man, who looked of not much money, was buying as crazy. He told me to help choosing each of his family members a perfume and so they choose some perfumes. As he saw the perfumes, I told him that each time he bought the big perfume, he got a prize. So he told me that every time a family member chooses a perfume, he wanted the big one, this left me astonished because each costs like about Q. 800 and it is very difficult to sell those. Each of the family member choose a big perfume, the only person who choose more than one was what seemed his girlfriend. She chose about three big perfumes. When I came to the cash register, I was sure this would be the biggest sale of all my working time in here. When the clerk finished charging the perfumes, the total amount was of about Q. 8,000. Every one of my working mates was astonished and congratulated me because every single perfume was of our goal perfumes, which were an amount of specifically perfumes which we had to sale so that our payment in the end duplicated. I remember that three days before the bazaar was over there was this boy who always sold more than me and was wining me by about Q. 10,000. I could never sell as much as he sold and I do not even know why. I remember that he did not came to work the last three days of work and now I still had hope of winning. Now it was the last day of work for me and this was the day in which more people came to the store. So I was totally prepared to sell the most because, even though my number one enemy was out of combat, there was this girl who had like Q. 2000 more than me, and I was sure I could win her. So that last day I sold about Q. 30,000 and at the end I was the best salesman of the store.

A Modest Proposal
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julpm08 2008
I know you are talking ironically, but only by talking in that way I feel you are crazy. If you want a real change do not make fun, give solutions, make proposals, instead of criticizing. I want a change for Ireland too, but we need leaders, not satirical writers. You could write criticizing landlords of England, but you have to make solutions for that problem. Only in that way we can motivate all the people in Ireland and really make a change. I am pretty sure that if we incentivate our people they will respond. Let’s make a better proposal, a proposal for liberty, a proposal for equal right, a proposal for hapiness, a proposal for patriotism. Let’s teach our people this values and take them to be better lives and for me the only way is a war. We will never be able to get free from the chains that holds us in the same place if we do not defeat England. I know this seems as atrocious as your “modest proposal” but it is the only way I see to freedom. They have taken so much from us, our food, our money, our pride, our honor, but they will never take the power of will, the will of having a better life for us. Join me to see our country in glory! Instead of eating our babies, let’s train them for war. Instead of calling woman a breeder, call them heroines because they are giving us the future leaders and fighters.
When you talked about eating catholics, that made me really angry. I do not know what religion you are, but we, the catholics of Ireland should join against the anglicans of England. Let us join, no matter religion, for a common cause: for our liberty. If you think that maybe war is not the solution, let us then protest in peace. Let us walk through all England protesting and marching until they finally accept our liberty. Start to spread the word through all Ireland that we will pay not one cent more to the English. Let us face them and tell them we do not want to be dominated by them, that we are free men and that we will never accept what they are doing. Let us tell the king of England and all of the landlords that dominate us that we will no longer subjugate to them, that from now on we will live our lives as we please and we will eat what we want. Tell them Ireland says they do not want to be subjugated and dominated any more, that we will make them pay for all the atrocities they have done to us. I know the English fear that we make a rebellion, deep in my heart and if they do not fear us lets make them fear. Let’s make them fear our spears, let’s make them fear our swords, let’s make them fear our arrows, let’s make them fear our fury, let’s make them fear our courage, but most important let’s make them fear that we are free men!
I know that for you the worst thing those English bastards are doing to us is making our people poor, but it is not the worst thing of all. The worst thing above everything is that they are taking our freedom, a freedom that has been given to us from the time we are born. They are taking away what we believe in and what we deserve. This is what we should fight for, not as your “modest proposal”. You will see that when we finally get our desired freedom from those English landlords you and I and every person who lives in Ireland will drink the best wine and eat the best quality of pork. Everyone will be so proud of getting their independence and living a wonderful life with all the pleasures it has.

Assignment 4
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julam08 2008
My head was dizzy and my vision blurry. I saw some strange figures all talking in a language I did not undertand and all standed around me. I was so wet and my skin was so burned by the sun. Finally, I managed to open my eyes and to clear my mind. What I was seeing was just amazing. These creatures that now I could see were the strangest things I have ever seen in my life. Their heads were similar to an octopus but had human bodies. Instead of having beard they had these small, disgusting, with slime tentacles. They had to eyes, a big head, a normal human mouth, two feet, hands that had tentacles instead of fingers. Their eyes were human but as blue as the sea. They had the same skin octopuses have and the color of the skin was brown with black dots. They dressed with what seemed the fibers of a banana tree made into a shirt. They talked in a language in which what I only heard was swashi weshi shwashi sheshwa sholosh shicaro. They instructed me to get up and put me one opened coconut in each hand and then attached with special plants so that I could not escape. I was walking with these octopuse-like creatures and what I saw in this strange island was only vegetation and the only part free of vegetation was the beach. I saw all this strange fruits and animals and all the vegetation was so different from what I knew. This whole jungle smelled to humidity, wet earth, and plants. We walked for about half an hour until we finally came to what seemed their town. Houses were shell like and had lots of little accumulations of water. They took me to the bigest shell-like house and I was face-to-face to another octopus-like creature, the only difference was that this octopus had a big leaf taht reached his ankle hanged by his neck and had a shell necklace around his neck. He started to talk to me in the same language I did not understanded but with signs I managed to understand he was asking why I ended up in that island. I tried to remember what had happened to me but I just had flashlights of the last night. Based on what I remembered I told him with signs that my ship was destroyed and I had to swim to this shore. I think he more less understanded me. So he ordered for the other octopus-like creatures to set me free and to give me food. They seated me in this table made of what seemed to be coral but made into a perfect rectangle. They served me something that looked that came from the ocean and seemed disgusting and slimy. For my surprise, when I tried it, it was a delicious meal. After some weeks being with them I started to understand their language. They started to tell me stories, their culture, their beliefs, their knowledge, their name, which is Pulpenians, and many things more. One day te kings of the Pulpenians told me that they were in a constant war with their neighbors the Serpentos. These were reptile-like creatures with, only one eye. This war has endured for thousands of years for the supremacy of the island. So he asked for me to help and I had to say yes because they had been very nice to me. So I help to construct modern wepons and teached tactics to them. Suddenly the final day came, the day of the battle. We were in a plain and both armies were reading for the final battle when suddenly I saw a ship in the distance and it had the flag of Guatemala, the most important country of our time. So I rapidly abandoned battle to go to the ship and finaly leave this place to replace it for my so loved country Guatemala.

Cartoon
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julpm08 2008
I think this cartoon is funny because is describing how most of the people think politicians are: greedy, false, liars, caring only about money, dirty and dishonest. This make a point in telling that politics is just a dirty job in which if you want to win you have to tell lies and be dishonest. Most of the people think this is true about politics and politicians so is a funny cartoon.

My Vacations
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julpm08 2008
Today is finally Friday afternoon. We have the so long awaited vacations of middle year. Today at the night we went to chachi’s house to party all night long. We were celebrating our vacations. I left the party like at 12 am and I had a very good time at it. The next day I woke up and knew that that day would be so different from my daily routine. I bathed, dressed, and prepared my self for a long trip. We arrived the airport and boarded the plane and we were flying directly to Miami. It was a flight of about two hours and in the plane I found Elisa Estrada, Maria Fernanda Martí, Marines Prado, and Paolita Contreras. We changed to seats where we could all be near and we talked the whole flight. When we arrived we had a very pleasant surprise, we weren’t going to Miami! My parents were taking us to Dominican Republic. I was so happy and excited because I love beaches. The bad thing was that the flight to Dominican Republic was of about two hours to reach Santo Domingo and then three more hours in car to Punta Cana. The trip was exhausting but when I saw the hotel everything was just happiness. We stayed at the hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana. I was like a real Palace and was just so beautiful. The hotel was huge and amazing. The moment I leaved my luggage in my room I went out to see the hotel. It was about 12 am and I had a few beers and after seeing the club I went back to my room to sleep.
The next day I woke up and went to eat breakfast with my family. I eated pancakes with nutella and cofee. We spent the whole morning by the beach just tanning and swimming in the ocean. Then we ate lunch and just have fun in the beach and relaxing. In the night I went to have a few drink and dance in the club. I repeated the same process during the five days I stayed in Punta Cana. One day we hired a boat and a parachute and we flyed in the parachute while the boat was moving us. It was a relaxing trip while we could see the whole bech and the forest. This whole trip to Punta Cana was a very relaxing and fun one because I had a great time with my family and also I met beautiful girls.
After this trip to Punta Cana we went back to Miami. We spent three days in the hotel Marriot. During this time we went to shop the three days and eat to a lot of different places. One day we were shopping in a mall and suddenly I saw Maria del Rosario Moreno! So we talked and walked in the mall a little bit. Then after walking some time I found also David Gabriel, Juan Campo, and Erwin Rivera. So we buyed some things together and talked about what they have done during their trip. We ate lunch together and I invited them to come with me to walk in ocean avenue, and avenue in Miami in which there are a lot of night clubs and parties. So in the nigth my parents took me and my friends to Ocean Avenue and while we walked we saw that a movie or a tv series was being filmed. So we walked and saw beautiful girls and then went to a restaurant to eat something. After we finished eating we left my friends in their hotel and we went to sleep. Then next day I was back in a plane but luckily I was in the same plane as my friends I encountered at the first flight. So I talked with them and after two hours I was finally in Guatemala after a trip of a week.
In Guatemala I did a lot of things also. I went so many times to parties and houses of my friends. One week I was out every day. So my parents said I had went out to much and the last week I stayed more in my house. But the week I went out a lot went to sleep to two houses of friends, went to a party of graduation, go to Pradera, and many things. I think this was one of the best vacations of my life and I would not change them for everything in the world.

The Last Book I Read
Posted by crosty77 on Jul20087, 12 Julam08 2008
CERN director Maximilian Kohler discovers one of the facility’s most respected physicists, Leonardo Vetra, murdered in his own secured, private quarters at the facility. His chest is branded with a symbol with the word “Illuminati”using a hot iron and his eye torn out. Kohler researches the topic on the Internet and finally gains contact with Professor Langdon, an expert on the Illuminati. Kohler requests his assistance in uncovering the murderer.
What Langdon finds at the murder scene frightens him: The symbol appears to be authentic, and the legendary secret society, long extinguished, seems to have resurfaced. Kohler calls Vetra’s adopted daughter Vittoria to the scene and it is later revealed that the Illuminati has also stolen a canister containing a quarter of a gram of antimatter — an extremely deadly substance with destructive potential comparable to the most powerful nuclear weapons in existence, which if touches anything explodes and can destroy the whole Earth. When charged with electricity at CERN, the canister’s magnetic field controls the drop of antimatter to float in a pure vacuum, ensuring safety; but when it was taken away from its electricity supply, it automatically switched to its back-up battery, which will only power it for 24 hours. The horrible truth is that the Illuminati has put the stolen canister somewhere in Vatican City, with a security camera in front of it as its digital clock counts down to the explosion.
Langdon and Vittoria make their way to Vatican City, where the Pope has recently died and the papal conclave has convened to elect the new pontiff. Cardinal Mortati, host of the election, discovers that the four Preferiti, cardinals who are the top picks in the current papal election, are missing. After they arrive, Langdon and Vittoria begin searching for the Preferiti in hopes that they will also find the antimatter canister in the process. Their search is assisted by Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca, the late pope’s closest aide, and the Vatican’s Swiss Guard.
Langdon attempts to retrace the steps of the so-called “Path of Illumination”, an ancient and elaborate process once used by the Illuminati as a means of induction of new members; prospective candidates for the Order were required to follow a series of subtle clues left in various landmarks in and around the Vatican City. If the candidate followed the clues properly, he would be able to locate the secret meeting place of the Illuminati and be granted membership in the Order. Using his extensive knowledge of religious history, Langdon sets off on the Path of Illumination.
The Path leads Langdon to four major locations in Rome, each associated with what the Illuminati believed to be the four primordial elements of all things in existence: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Upon arriving at each location, Langdon finds one of the Preferiti murdered in a fashion appropriate to their respective element. The first cardinal was buried and had soil lodged in his throat (Earth); the second’s lungs were pierced (Air); the third was engulfed in flames and burned alive (Fire); and the fourth was drowned in a large fountain (Water). After finding the bodies of the first two Preferiti (Earth and Air), The kidnapper is an unnamed Hassassin who is working under the orders of the Illuminati master “Janus”, whose true identity is unknown. Langdon is nearly killed himself in this encounter with the Hassassin, who manages to kidnap Vittoria. Langdon manages to escape.
Langdon nevertheless attempts to complete the Path of Illumination in order to find the Hassassin and rescue Vittoria. His search leads him to an abandoned castle-like structure with an underground tunnel leading directly into the Pope’s chambers in the Vatican. Langdon frees Vittoria, and together they send the Hassassin falling several hundred feet to his death. The two hurry back to St. Peter’s Basilica, where they find that Kohler has arrived to confront the camerlengo in private. Langdon and Vittoria fear that Kohler is Janus, and that he has come to murder the camerlengo. Hearing the camerlengo scream in agony, the Swiss Guards burst into the room and open fire on Kohler. Just before he dies, Kohler gives Langdon a videotape that he says will explain everything.
With time on the canister running out, the Swiss Guard begins to evacuate the Basilica. As he is exiting the church, the camerlengo apparently goes into a trance and rushes back into the Basilica, saying that he has received a vision from God revealing the location of the antimatter. With Langdon and a few others in pursuit, the camerlengo goes deep into the catacombs beneath the Basilica and finds the canister tucked away in a small box. Langdon and the camerlengo retrieve the antimatter and get in a helicopter. The camerlengo manages to parachute safely onto the roof of St. Peter’s just as the canister explodes harmlessly in the sky. Langson was in a lot of trouble because there was not another parachute in the helicopter. Because of this “miracle”, the Papal Conclave debate whether exception should be made to elect the camerlengo as the new Pope. Robert Langdon survived the explosion by using a window cover from the chopper as a parachute and landed in the Tiber River near Tiber Island. He is hurt, but not seriously.
Langdon returns to St. Peter’s and views Kohler’s tape with the College of Cardinals. Langdon, Vittoria, and the cardinals confront the camerlengo in the Sistine Chapel, where the truth is finally revealed. Shortly before the events of the novel, the Pope was scheduled to meet with Leonardo Vetra concerning his research at CERN. Vetra believed that science was capable of establishing a link between Man and God, a belief that was manifested by his research on antimatter. Vetra’s beliefs caused great discomfort to the camerlengo, who firmly believed that the Church alone should dictate the moral creed of the Christian faithful. While discussing Vetra, the Pope reveals his support is due to science having created him a miracle: a son conceived by artificial insemination. Horrified that the Pope has fathered a child, the camerlengo plots to “rectify” the situation. He poisoned the Pope and, under the guise of an Illuminati master (Janus), he recruited the Hassassin. The camerlengo planted the antimatter in St. Peter’s and feigned his last-minute “vision” from God in order to be seen as a hero and the savior of Christendom by those who witnessed his brave acts.
It is revealed that Camerlengo Ventresca was the birth son of the last Pope, conceived through artificial insemination. Suddenly overcome with grief and guilt at having caused so much death, especially that of his own father, Ventresca soaks himself in oil and suicides himself before a crowd of onlookers in St. Peter’s Square. The conclave elects Cardinal Mortati as the new pope.
