Why do people lie

Posted by crosty77 on Feb20082, 12 Febam08 2008

I think people lie most of the time to hide something. To hide something that would hurt them in some way either emotionally or physically. Lies are a type of shield that protects us from all of the dangers. For example you are eating on a mall and a stranger comes to your table and starts to ask you questions like how old are you or where do you live you can lie in order to don’t give vital information to the stranger. Another example could be when a friend asks you if you betrayed him by kissing his girlfriend. You can lie to him so that you can still be friend with him and surely to avoid a fight with your friend.

As you saw lies can be very useful as a self defense mechanism. But lies are not only for self defence. It can be very useful to defend other people. For example the teacher asks where is one of your friends. You know that he escaped from classes to see his girlfriend, so you use once again lies. You can tell her he felt nausea and that went to the bathroom, or you could tell her he had to go to his home because his dog he had from his childhood died, or that he had diarrea and had to go to the bathroom.

You can also lie when you don’t want people to know your real intentions. For example when you are talking with your ex girlfriend and she asks you if you still love her you say no even when you know you are dying inside, or when you are in poker and you are bluffing you can say some lies in order to confuse the opponent, or when you are in a business you can lie but in this occasion is not very recomendable to lie because lies of this magnitude can make you go even to jail.

At the end lies could be a very useful wepon or a very bad one. This is because most of the time telling the truth is better. There are really very few times when lying is better. Most of the time is to compliment someone in order to make him or her feel good or to help someone else, but most of the time lies lead only to more lies. In my opinion is better to confront a problem and don’t use lies because then your problem will be so big you will die in the inside.

Inventory of speaking, listening, and viewing.

Posted by crosty77 on Feb20082, 12 Febpm08 2008

How well do I listen in school?

Most of the time i listen very carefully and with my full attention. When I am sleepy, angry, or desperated for the class to finish I don’ t listen very well.

How much do I learn by listening?

Is the best way to learn because someone else is explaining it to you. So for me I learn the most by listening.

Do I listen carefully to what my friends say?

Most of the time yes but I am a bit distracted.

What do I learn from them?

How to have good parties, how to study, how to behave, how to become a good friend, how to drink alcohol, how to make funny names to everyone in the school, how to be fashion, how to treat women.

When is it difficult for me to listen?

When I am sleepy, angry, desperated to end the listening with another person, when I hate the person that is talking, when I am in love, or when I have a problem.

What makes it difficult?

What I am feeling in the moment I am listening.

What kinds of music do I like to listen to

Reggaeton, trance, techno, pop, punk, classical, opera, house, rock, almost everything.

Why do I like them?

I don’t like a special type of music. I like every type because each one is different and in different stages of my life I like to different types of music. For example one day I like to hear trance, while tommorow I would like to hear reggaeton.

What tv shows and movies are my favorites?

300, Im a Legend, Fist of Zen, Balls of Steel, The Ali G Show, Pursuit of Happiness, Jackass, Next, Lord of the Rings.

What do I like about them?

Most of the ones I said are or full of action or extremely funny

What else do I like to see and watch?

I like to see games, web pages, messenger, and lots of more things in my computer. I like to see funny theatrical plays. I love to see landscapes while being relaxed. I like to see prety women.

What is special about these?

Are things in life everyone likes to make.

How do I feel about speaking to friends?

Very happy, entertained, and with interest.

What do I like to talk to them about?

About girls, about parties, soccer, school, videogames, music, and baseball.

How do I feel about talking to adults?

A bit uncomfortable but most of the time is easy to talk to them.

Why do I feel this way?

Uncomfortable because they are a lot older than me and think differently than me. Easy to talk to them because all my life I have been around older people.

How do I feel about reciting or speaking to the class?

First very nervous but then, as I am speaking, I get confidence and nervousness goes away.

Why do I feel this way?

Because is very stressing to people and because I try always to make my best.

Have I given any speeches or been in a plays?

Yes, I have been in like three school plays and I have given many speeches in school.

How did or would I like doing this?

I like talking to other people in speeches because is something I really know how to do it. Plays I enjoy it but I always get very nervous.

What is the most difficult thing about speaking?

Controlling nervousness before it.

Why is it difficult?

Because is something very difficult to controll and that in my case is controlled only when I start to speak.

Now the city lives in terror. King Hrothgar closed Herot and never did another party. Every night Grendel killed for pleasure and for eating human’s flesh. Finally Grendel came and Beowulf waited for Grendel to kill one soldier so he could see how he killed. After that the battle started. At the end Beowulf ripped off Grendel’s arm and Grendel went to his home in a marsh and died in agony. Beowulf went into the marsh and cut off Grendel’s head and took it to the Geats.

Then Gilgamesh rose his ax to kill Humbaba but he told Gilgamesh that if he let him he would be his servant. Enkidu told Gilgamesh to don’t trust him and at the end Gilgamesh cutted Humbaba’s head.

Frame Story Continued

Posted by crosty77 on Feb20082, 12 Febam08 2008

Peggy was turning  off his bedroom’s lamp

While she remebered how many good moments she had on the camp

She had insomnia that night and couldn’t go to sleep

She was lost in her memories when suddenly he heard a beep

It was her best friend Cassie calling to her cellphone

Peggy answered and Cassie started to talk in a strange tone

When Cassie stopped talking Peggy was in shock

Peggy was informed that this summer there will be a camp in Bangkok

The whole group of friends that meeted last year would finally meet again

And now they will all surely make more than one friend

The day finally came and each of the four friends where there

Cassie, Peggy, Sonny, and James where waiting for the plane in the bottom of a stair

Talking about life and what each made during the year

The most impressive thing was that James made and earring in his ear

Now they were going to endure the most boring part: the flight

The whole trip was nice and quickly it became night

They arrived Bangkok at 7 a.m o’clock

Now it was their time to rock!

James was so exctied to play new sports

He did not cared about hotels, food, girls or resorts

The whole summer in this camp he pretended just to have fun

To meet new girls, new friends, new places, and always leave a space to run

He had lived all his life in a farm

So this jump to the city was like a charm

He was so confused in the city that one day he lost in the main street

That day he returned the camp tired, stressed, and full of sweat

For Sonny things were more easy

He found a girl that made his stomach uneasy

Everytime he saw her he sighted like a train

The girl had brown eyes, brown hair, and was from Spain

He looked at her almost all the days

One day she came to talk to him to his amaze

This was the happiest day of all his life

He thought this would be his one and only wife

For Cassie and Peggy all was wonderful

Everyone in the camp thought they were pretty and cool

The two inseparable friends had a lot of fun shopping

They bought from place to place without stopping

Apart from shopping they got each a boyfriend

They lasted untill the summer camp’s end

Now the four best friends had to go back to reality

But they were not sad, they were full of vitality

This was because they knew they will meet again

In a future not so distant and surely before they became full grown women and men

Husband killed by robbers who tried to kiss his wife

Posted by crosty77 on Feb20082, 12 Febpm08 2008

One of the saddest stories of the year that Ya Esta Tuanis Newspapers has published. The couple left the door opened because they were playing a fun game. What they didn’t knew was that something terrible was going to happen.

“I never thought this could happen!”said the wife, “It all happened so fast. We were just playing a game to see who talked first and the first one who talked had to close the door. Then the robbers came and tried to kiss me! Oh my god (she started to cry).”

The robbers tried to kiss the wife and when the husband saw this he talked and lost the game. His wife, worrying little of the real problem, said to him: “You lost the game so get up and bard the door.” So the husband hit the robber on the face. Then he made what his wife ordered him, that were the rules of the game. When he did this the robbers shot him three times. Nothing else could be done.

This is now something typically of Guatemala. Killing a person because of nothing more than money or women. A very sad story that we hope can get a happy ending. We urge you to ask for a change in this country that is controlled by fear. Also we recomend to stop playing games with your husbands and wifes because it could all end in disaster. Lets not repeat what they did and learn from errors.

If I Could Become Invisible

Posted by crosty77 on Feb20082, 12 Febam08 2008

If I could become invisible there would be so many things to do. First of all I would use this power in the benefit of others. I would work with the police in many cases. For example I could enter a house without being detected and listen to conversations or I could enter a building that is threated to be bombed and disarm it without being noticed. Also I could help a person who is being abused.

One of the things I would do to my benefit would be to listen conversations of other people. For example I could hear what the girl I like is talking about me. Or I could hear what my friends are talking about me. Also I could enter a club in any part of the world without being stopped by the guards. If one day I forgot to make my homework I could become invisible and my friends could say I did not came to school that day. If I get in a fight I could become invisible and escape or, if in do not like that person, I could kick his butt very easily.

If I could become invisible I would also help my dad in his job. For example I could hear if a person is trying to steal him or if he is interested in buying something. If my brother needs help in an exam because he did not studied the day before, I would tell him all the answers but I would make him study a lot after the test to be sure he really knows.

If someone needs a scientific investigation that could only be done in a natural environment I would help. This could help a lot because the people that is being investigate will not even notice me and because of this they would act how they would normally do. This could be very useful when you want to know how people react to something but without interfering in the process.

For fun I would like to scare my friends. I would become invisible and go to my friend’s house and scare them all the time until I get bored of laughing.

Inventing a Frame Story

Posted by crosty77 on Feb20082, 12 Febam08 2008

Not old in age

But always full of rage

The little Peggy of only seven years old

Would surley have been the devil’s mould

So irrespectfull to other people she was

That she even broke his mother’s bedroom glass

I think she was like that because she never had a real friend

She was more interested to see how a toy could be burned, broke, and bend

That tall, skinny boy is named Sonny

He is as peaceful as a bunny

So peaceful that even a girl would look stronger

So weak and unhealthy that a turtle could run longer

Had his hair black and straight like the hairs of a brush

But so timid with women that from them he always rush

With all the people I have ever seen

James is the best in sports and no one like him

Only seventeen years old he was

And he could play baseball, basketball, soccer, and even dance jazz.

His only problem was that he was always in love

He prefers women than his family or his job

Lastly but not of less importance, she is Cassie

She is the most beautiful girl in all her school but also the most lazy

She loves to have all the boys in love with her but to never have a boyfriend

So so cruel with boys she is that she never leaves a heart mend

Her family is so rich that she could buy the entire school

And she is so spoiled by her parents they can buy her, if she wants, thousands of pools

The thing they don´t know is that all of them will meet

In a journey they will never forget or time could beat

They will become the best friends ever

And even they have so different personalities they will never

Stop to be friends in this summer camp

Even when their lives gets rain of problems that make them damp
